Police arrest suspect in Braintree bank robbery using air support and K9s

BRAINTREE, Mass. (WLNE) — Police responded to Eastern Bank in Braintree Friday morning for reports of an armed robbery.

An employee of the Granite Street bank reported the robbery at 10:43 a.m. with several patrol and detective units responding to the scene.

A suspect matching the description given to authorities was seen running across Granite Street toward a wooded area by witnesses.

As a result, Braintree High School was placed on lock-out as a precaution.

K9 and air support were utilized by police in the search for the suspect.

A suspect was apprehended at approximately 11 a.m. as they exited the wood line on West Street.

The investigation is ongoing and there is no threat to the public.
