Person dies after car drives into Agawam River

WAREHAM, Mass. (WLNE) — Massachusetts State Police said a person died after their car drove into the Agawam River on Saturday.

The incident occurred in the median between Route 25 East and West.

Police received a report around 9 a.m. of a car upside down in the water.

The victim has not been identified.

Emergency responders could be seen in the water with the car, which was upside down.

The Providence Canteen posted photos of the car being removed from the water.
