Rhode Island reminds voters of mail ballot deadline

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — The Rhode Island Board of Elections and Rhode Island Department of State remind residents that mail ballots must be received by the Board of Elections by 8 p.m. on Nov. 5.

Mail ballots can be returned through the U.S. mail in a drop box or at a local board of canvassers.

On Nov. 5, ballots can be returned at a polling site in-person.

The RI Department of State encourages voters to use a drop box over mailing the ballot.

Rhode Island drop boxes have surveillance 24 hours a day, seven days a week when used for an election.

Voters who do prefer to mail their ballots are advised to do so as soon as possible.

For more information on the election, you can visit the Rhode Island Department of State website.
