Attorney General Peter Neronha discusses ILO investigation

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — The Rhode Island Attorney General held a press conference today after the release of an extensive report outlining his investigation into an education contract awarded by Governor Dan McKee’s administration.

State Attorney General Peter Neronha said he’s not bringing any charges after investigating McKee’s multi-million dollar education deal with the ILO group.

The investigation focused on how a $5.2 million dollar education contract was awarded by McKee’s office, and whether another lower bidder was overlooked because the ILO group’s leadership is tied to the McKee.

Neronha found McKee did steer the contract to ILO against the findings of a state review team, but there’s no evidence to justify a prosecution.

Governor Dan McKee has yet to speak publicly on the findings, and has no public events scheduled today.
