Halloween heat! 2nd warmest of all-time likely for Providence
Wednesday gave us a preview of the warmer air on the way for Halloween, as many reached 70° across the area.
We will jump up close by ten full degrees as we push 80 across interior sections Thursday afternoon. It will be a bit cooler at the coast with SW winds, but still balmy.
The warmest Halloween of all-time in Providence was 83° back in 1946. Right now, #2 is 73° in 2004, which should easily be broken.
It will still be warm on Friday, but a cold front will bring some light showers early in the day. Behind it, much cooler air will build in for the first weekend of November (50s.)
Don’t forget, 2AM Sunday marks the end of Daylight Saving Time. Sunset Sunday will be 4:37PM for Providence!
