FALL RIVER, Mass. (WLNE) — A woman was injured last night in Fall River after being bit by a dog multiple times, according to police.

Officials said yesterday afternoon around 12:30 p.m., officers responded to the 200 block of Barnaby Street following the reports of a dog attacking a male.

Upon arrival, police discovered that a 28-year-old female had been bit multiple times.

According to an eyewitness, three dogs got loose from a nearby yard and jumped on the female and knocked her to the ground.

Police said a male who was in the area helped the female by pulling the three dogs away from her.

Officers and paramedics provided aid to the female, who was then transported to Rhode Island Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Animal control responded to the scene, at which time one dog was quarantined at a local animal shelter.

The other two will be quarantined with their respective owner.

The incident is still under investigation by Animal Control, who will determine the statues of the animals.
