Oxygen tanks explode during fire in Tiverton home

TIVERTON, R.I. (WLNE) — The Tiverton Fire Department said a mobile home on Fairfield Avenue caught fire on Friday.

The department said multiple oxygen tanks that were on the premises exploded as a result of the fire.

One occupant of the house was brought to the hospital for evaluation.

The department added a tanker was needed to help extinguish the fire due to a lack of hydrants in the area.

The incident is under investigation.
