North Smithfield police make arrests after tip about selling drugs from Travelers Motor Lodge

NORTH SMITHFIELD, R.I. (WLNE)- Two people were arrested after police in North Smithfield say they received tips that drug deals were being made out of a motel room on Tuesday.

The tip directed police to the Traveler’s Motor Lodge on Eddie Dowling Highway.

Two people were taken into custody.

Police said one of those individuals, Antonio Freitas, informed officers that he was in possession of narcotics.

North Smithfield officers found heroin, fentanyl, and nearly $1,000 in cash on Freitas.

Freitas is being held at the ACI.
