Stop & Shop Announces The Company Will Stop Selling Cigarettes And Tobacco Products In Stores

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — Ahold Delhaize USA, a parent company of Stop & Shop, recently detected a cybersecurity issue within its U.S. network.

According to a release, immediately upon detecting the issue, the security teams began an investigation with the assistance of external cybersecurity experts.

The company said they also notified law enforcement.

Some of the systems have been offline as the company looks to mitigate the issue, according to the release, which may be experienced in stores throughout the U.S.

“This issue and subsequent mitigating actions have affected certain Ahold Delhaize USA brands and services including a number of pharmacies and certain e-commerce operations,” the release further states.
