Woman arrested for setting apartment on fire in Plainville held without bail

PLAINVILLE, Mass. (WLNE) — A woman accused of setting her own apartment building on fire in Plainville was ordered to be held without bail yesterday.

61-year-old Heather MacKinnon was charged with arson and disorderly conduct after police said she intentionally set her apartment on fire on Monday.

One person was rescued from the basement during the fire at the Village Greens Apartments on Messenger Street, but no one was hurt.

A total of 20 people did escape from the apartment.

MacKinnon’s next court date will be held in December.
