Soaking rain Thursday will ease drought concerns
Much needed rain incoming!
It arrives Thursday morning and will last throughout much of the day, marking likely the first time since September we pick up an inch or more rain.
Because of how dry the ground is, it won’t be able to absorb it all at one. That runoff, coupled with clogged up drains or catch basins from fallen leaves will likely lead to localized road flooding.
Showers will linger on Friday, with any rain being on the lighter side. Meanwhile, accumulating snow is likely to fall well to our west as colder air surges in behind the storm.
This will keep daytime temperatures in the 40s through the start of the weekend. It will turn windy Saturday into Sunday, making it feel even colder!
Temperatures will moderate for the leadup to Thanksgiving. A much less fierce storm looks to move through Monday night into Tuesday, so travel impacts across the Northeast should be minimal.
Thanksgiving weekend is looking to be cold, and there are some signals that a rain/snow event could be possible, so stay tuned!
