Somerset Police warning public of scams

SOMERSET, Mass. (WLNE) — The Somerset Police Department is warning the public to be aware of phishing scams.

The department said that scams that seek to get information from victims are on the rise.

It outlined steps on how to avoid such scams, which include being cautious of unexpected calls or texts, double checking the number’s and email addresses that messages come from, never clicking suspicious links, and not believing messages that sound “too good to be true.”
