Raccoons rescued from Westerly catch basin

WESTERLY, R.I. (WLNE) — A pair of raccoons were discovered desperately treading water in a catch basin in Bradford last week.

The raccoons were spotted November 21 by a RIDOT crew that was cleaning out the the basins.

Personnel from the Westerly Animal Shelter responded to the scene, and were able to pull the raccoons to safety.
