Police investigate overnight Brockton shooting

BROCKTON, M.A. (WLNE) – An overnight shooting in Brockton has left one man dead and another injured.
Shortly after 12:27am on Monday morning, Brockton police and emergency medical personnel arrived to Madrid Square in Brockton after receiving calls about a shooting.
At the site of the shooting, police found two men with evidence of gunshot wounds. One was pronounced dead at the scene and the other was taken to Good Samaritan Hospital for non-life threatening injuries.
Police have reported that the deceased victim was Brockton resident Jamari Leblanc, 31. The identity of the second victim has not been released.
Based on preliminary evidence, law enforcement officials do not believe the shooting was caused by a random act of violence. An investigation is currently underway.
