Traffic being diverted due to ‘serious crash’ in Swansea

SWANSEA, Mass. (WLNE) — The Swansea Police Department said a “serious crash” is affecting traffic on Route 6 Friday evening.

Emergency personnel responded to the crash around 5 p.m., which involved a tractor trailer that was hauling pool water and a pickup truck.

The pickup truck appeared to have struck the tractor trailer, and the driver was transported to the hospital with serious injuries.

A large amount of pool water also leaked onto the road.

The crash occurred near Shawmut Metal.

Police said that commuters should seek an alternate route.
