Cranston Police investigating multiple break-ins
CRANSTON, R.I. (WLNE) — The Cranston Police Department said it is investigating multiple break-ins that have occurred in the last day.
The department said four housebreaks have occurred in the Edgewood section of the city: one on Malvern Avenue, one on Broad Street, and two on Alhambra Circle.
The suspect in the Malvern Avenue incident pointed a gun at a homeowner that police believed was taken from the residence.
They were described as a dark-skinned male wearing a gray camouflage sweatshirt and a hat, with hair protruding from either side of the hat.
The owners of the house that was broken into on Broad Street said they found blood on a screen door and food consumed in the kitchen.
The suspect in one of the Alhambra Circle break-ins was described as a male with a medium build, wearing gray pants and a blue puffy jacket with a hood, who may have injured himself on a window while breaking in.
The other Alhambra Drive residence had a power tool, debit card, clothing, and a cell phone stolen.
The department said patrols have increased in the area, and residents secure all doors and windows and to report any suspicious activity or individuals by dialing 911.
The suspect is believed to be armed and should not be approached.
