A quiet, but cold weekend

Colder air is going to be with us this weekend along with a good deal of sunshine. In fact, the weather pattern around the region is going to be rather redundant through Wednesday. We’ll see overnight lows dropping into the upper teens and lower 20s under a generally clear sky and daytime highs only in the upper 30s amid a fair amount of sunshine and just some passing clouds. So, all-in-all it’ll be feeling quite a bit like Winter!

As we go into Wednesday evening there will be an Alberta Clipper type storm racing at us. These type of systems coming out of Canada typically do not produce a lot of precipitation and are fast movers. So, as this system works in for Wednesday night we should see some light snow and snow showers developing that could create some slippery conditions. Moving into the first half of Thursday any lingering snow showers should be mixing with or changing to rain showers, but by the afternoon things are expected to be drying out and even colder air will work its way in to finish the week and heading into the next weekend.
