Officials to break ground on Providence middle school

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — Mayor Brett Smiley will join Providence school officials to help break ground on a new campus for a Providence middle school.

The event will mark the start of construction for an addition to Frank D. Spaziano Middle School.

Construction of the school is part of the city’s $1 billion plan for “new” or “like new” schools for Providence by 2030.

The groundbreaking will begin at 2 p.m. on Plainfield Street.
