RI State Police announced it made 27 DWI arrests over Thanksgiving weekend

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — The Rhode Island State Police announced Monday it arrested 27 people for drinking under the influence over the course of Thanksgiving weekend.

Police also said over 100 motor vehicle crashes were investigated over the weekend, as well as over 700 motor vehicle stops for multiple traffic violations.

On Nov. 27, the night before Thanksgiving, Rhode Island State Police reminded residents to drive sober, and said that during the holiday season troopers have extra patrols to catch impaired drivers.
