Auto shop damaged in early morning fire

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) – An auto shop in Providence was seriously damaged in a fire early Sunday morning.

Providence Fire Department responded to 252 Manton Avenue just before 5:30 a.m. Sunday for reports of a building fire.

Firefighters arrived to find an auto shop fully engulfed in flames. Firefighters battled the fire and evacuated some residents from nearby Curtis Street.

Police told ABC6 the building was unoccupied at the time and no injuries were reported.
