Trial to begin for woman accused of DUI and killing a Medway mom in 2017

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — A woman accused of driving under the influence and killing a woman on I-95 back in 2017 is set to face trial today.
Yiranis Liz was arrested after police said she lost control of her car, and struck a 38-year-old Massachusetts woman who was standing beside her car in the southbound breakdown lane of I-95 near Eddy Street.
Andrea Bosworth, also known as “Iron Mom,” was in critical condition for days before dying from her injuries.
Bosworth left behind her husband, and her three children.
“Andrea’s boundless energy was infectious and her strength and determination to succeed was contagious; she was inspiring in every way,” her obituary stated.
“She lifted up those around her each and every day, always helping, encouraging, and supporting her family, friends, and strangers alike no matter the circumstances. She was truly a beautiful person and a kind soul and the world is a little less bright without her in it.”

Driving under the influence of intoxicating liquor or drugs, serious bodily injury resulting;

Operating to endanger, serious bodily injury resulting.
The trial for Liz is set to begin at 9:30 a.m. in Providence County Superior Court.
