Smithfield Police charge two men in connection with arson

SMITHFIELD, R.I. (WLNE) — The Smithfield Police Department said two Providence men were charged in connection with a brush fire at Fidelity Investments.

25-year-old Axel Bandoma and 23-year-old Assan Faye were both charged with 6th Degree arson.

Police said the fire started after the two men allegedly lit a piece of paper.

Both were released on $10,000 bail and are expected back in court on Feb. 12, 2025.
