St. Mary’s Feast shooting suspect to face judge

CRANSTON, R.I. (WLNE) — The 28-year-old man accused of firing his gun near the St. Mary’s Feast in Cranston over the summer will face a judge today.

Michael Mancini will be arraigned on several charges, including firing a gun in a compact area.

The shooting happened back in July at a bar and restaurant near the St. Mary’s Feast on Phenix Avenue.

Cranston police, who were already in the area, heard a gunshot at 39 West Restaurant and Lounge.

Police found Mancini in a fight with another person.

Body cam footage from Cranston police shows officials taking Mancini to the ground as authorities tried to take his gun.

According to police after they apprehended Mancini and the gun, and discovered Mancini had shot himself in the leg during the fight.

Authorities also found cocaine on him.

Mancini faces two felony charges, including carrying a gun without a license, and carrying a gun with large ammo capacity.

He also faces multiple misdemeanor charges including resisting arrest

Mancini will be arraigned at 9 a.m. this morning in Superior Court.
