4 people hospitalized, 3 seriously injured in Route 495 crash in Mansfield
MANSFIELD, Mass. (WLNE) — A total of four people were transported to the hospital after a multi-car crash in Mansfield, according to officials.
Massachusetts State Police said several lanes on Route 495 northbound and southbound were closed on Thursday while troopers cleared the scene of a three-car crash.
According to officials, Massachusetts State Police responded to a crash Thursday morning that happened on Route 495 South in Mansfield.
Officials said two of the vehicles were involved in a head-on collision.
One vehicle veered into the southbound lane from the northbound lane striking head on.
The occupants of two of the vehicles were unable to exit, but were extricated.
Multiple companies assisted in the response, including Foxboro, Norton, Plainville, and Wrentham.
Three were transported to Rhode Island Hospital with serious injuries, while one was transported to Sturdy Memorial Hospital with minor injuries.
