Red Cross helping family of four after West Warwick house fire

WEST WARWICK, R.I. (WLNE) — The Red Cross announced it is helping a family of four after a house fire on Napoleon Street in West Warwick Saturday.

At 2:05 a.m., crews were sent to a home after receiving a call on reports of a chimney fire.

At the scene, crews found smoke coming from the side of the house.

The fire was mostly contained to the basement and crews controlled it within 20 minutes, according to West Warwick Fire Department Chief J. Jeffrey Varone.

Officials said there were no injuries and the Red Cross was called to assist the family
