DIGHTON, Mass. (WLNE) — Police said a 19-year-old Taunton man was hospitalized with life-threatening injuries after a serious motor vehicle crash Saturday evening.

At around 6:18 p.m., a Dighton police officer saw a grey sedan traveling at a “high rate of speed” down Tremont Street, which then went through a stop sign.

Shortly after, the car swerved off the road, struck a tree and utility pole, and rolled over.

At the scene, Dighton police found a 19-year-old man, who they believe was ejected from the car due to the crash, with life-threatening injuries.

The 19-year-old passenger was transported to Rhode Island Hospital by MedFlight.

The driver of the vehicle, a Dighton woman, was transported by ambulance to a hospital in Rhode Island.

The crash is under investigation.
