Community to honor Endicott College officer

BEVERLY, Mass. (WLNE) — Family, friends, and loved ones are set to honor the life and legacy of a former Endicott College officer who was killed in a head-on crash on Thanksgiving Day.
Sgt. Jeremy Cole died on November 28 after leaving his evening shift when he was struck head-on by an oncoming car going in the wrong direction on I-95 in Newbury.
Keoma Duarte, 40, was charged with motor vehicle homicide while operating under the influence of liquor and operating recklessly, manslaughter, and motor vehicle homicide by reckless operation, as well as faces civil motor vehicle violations for driving in the wrong direction on a state highway, speeding, and marked lanes violation.
A law enforcement walk through will be held today at 1:30 p.m. at the Campbell Funeral Home in Beverly.
A public wake will then be held from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Cole leaves behind his wife, and four children, and was actively pursuing his Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice.
He served as a dedicated Sergeant with the Endicott College Police Department for 15 years.
