Rhode Island Student Loan Association to host open house for FAFSA forms

The Rhode Island Student Loan Authority will be holding an open house for students and families filling out a FAFSA form this year.
The open house is at the college planning center at 1000 Chapel View Boulevard in Cranston from 10:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
FAFSA, which officially launched on December 1, is used to help determine the amount of federal financial aid, such as Pell grants, scholarships, and student loans, that the student is eligible to receive.
FAFSA is also the form Rhode Island residents complete to determine eligibility for the Rhode Island Promise Scholarship and the Rhode Island Hope Scholarship.
The programs provide two years of free tuition at the Community College of Rhode Island or Rhode Island College.
