BREAKING: Suspect Luigi Mangione arrested in murder of UHC CEO
ALTOONA, Penn. (WLNE) — According to ABC News, police have detained a man with a fake ID and a gun similar to the one used to killed UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson on December 4 in New York City.
Luigi Mangione, 26, was traveling through Altoona Monday morning on a Greyhound bus, exited the vehicle and walked into a McDonald’s where he was recognized by a witness from images circulated by the NYPD.
Mangione was also alleged to be carrying fake IDs, among them a New Jersey ID, matching the document the suspect used to check into a Manhattan hostel.
Writings and a computer were also seized from Mangione.
The NYPD is sending detectives to the central Pennsylvania town to assist in the investigation of the suspect.
