Woonsocket man charged in connection to fatal Boston shooting
BOSTON, Mass. (WLNE) — A 25-year-old man from Woonsocket has been charged in connection to a fatal shooting in Boston yesterday.
According to the Boston Police Department, at about 10:24 p.m. on Monday, officers responded to the area of 114 Devon Street for a ShotSpotter activation.
Upon arrival, police located a victim suffering from gunshot wounds.
The victim was pronounced deceased on scene.
Police who responded to the incident did observe individuals leaving an alley.
Officials said officers did try to speak with the individuals who immediately sprinted from the area.
A foot pursuit ensued, and officers were able to stop both individuals.
Darius Powell of Woonsocket and 25-year-old Daiquan Miller of Dorchester were placed under arrest and charged with unlawful possession, unlawful possession of a firearm, and unlawful possession of a large capacity feeding device.
The incident is under investigation at this time.
