Strong storm brings heavy rain and gusty winds Wednesday

Rain returns to Southern New England later tonight. A Stormtracker Alert is in effect for Wednesday.

Multiple rounds of heavy rain will move through tomorrow. A few rumbles of thunder are possible as well. We are still looking at 2-3″ of rain across the area.

This is great for our drought situation, but less than ideal for everything else as runoff will contribute to localized flooding.

Expect breezy conditions throughout the day, with south winds sustained at 10-20 mph. It will then turn downright windy by Wednesday evening.

A *High Wind Warning* is up for the entire shore line, with has also expanded inland to include Kent in RI and all of Bristol MA.

Winds in these locations could gust as high as 60 MPH, and potentially a little over that. *Wind Advisory* has been posted for the remainder of our area.

Spotty power outages are possible, so make sure to charge your devices up tonight. Also be sure to bring in holiday decorations and deflate inflatables!

It will also be quite warm on Wednesday with highs in the 60s, but that will come crashing down quickly Wednesday night.

It remains blustery on Thursday with high temperatures in the 40s (feeling much colder) and then highs in the 30s for Friday and Saturday.

Temps will moderate as we head into next week, with more rain likely Monday into Tuesday.
