Taunton mayor reaches deal in domestic assault case
TAUNTON, Mass. (WLNE) — Taunton Mayor Mayor Shaunna O’Connell reached a deal in court to end her domestic assault case on Thursday.
O’Connell was charged with assault and battery as well as assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, after police responded to her home for a “domestic incident.”
She was accused of biting and hitting her husband Ted during an argument.
O’Connell had said that she and her husband had made up, and admitted in court to assaulting him, but plead not guilty.
She was sentenced to six months probation.
