Rhode Island State Police say ‘suspicious’ package discovered at State House

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — Rhode Island State Police said a “suspicious” package was found at the State House.

The Providence Fire Department seized the package for “precautionary measures and testing,” according to RISP.

Police said the package arrived by mail.

RISP and the Providence Fire Department both responded to the scene.

The incident is under investigation.
