RIPTA to operate on Sunday, holiday schedule on Christmas and New Years Day

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — In observance of Christmas Day and New Year’s Day, The Rhode Island Public Transportation Authority announced that they will be operate all fixed-route bus service on a Sunday/holiday schedule on Wednesday, Dec. 25 and Wednesday, Jan. 1.

According to RIPTA, Flex Services will not be available on either holiday, and the offices will be closed.

The RIde Paratransit Program will also operate on a holiday schedule.

RIPTA said  the reservation line will not be staffed on either holiday; however, passengers can leave a detailed voicemail message to reserve trips for the next day.

The RIde program does not provide standing order trips (recurring service) on RIPTA holidays.

Customers are encouraged to call the RIde reservation line (401-461-9760) before the respective dates to schedule a trip for the holiday.
