Dead whale found on Charlestown beach

CHARLESTOWN, R.I. (WLNE) — A dead whale washed ashore on Quonnie Beach in Charlestown this week.

According to the town, Mystic Aquarium has assessed the situation and will conduct a necropsy on the whale. 

Following the necropsy, the aquarium said they will determine the appropriate method for disposing of the whale’s carcass. 

The town said they are urging onlookers to keep their distance from the whale while they complete their work.
