Matschie’s tree kangaroo at Roger Williams Park Zoo celebrates 18th birthday

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — The Roger Williams Park Zoo is celebrating a special birthday today.

Morobe, an endangered Matschie’s tree kangaroo, is turning 18-years-old.

Roger Williams Park Zoo is currently the home for two Matschie’s tree kangaroos, including Morobe and La Roo.

Matschie’s tree kangaroos are native to Papua New Guinea, and can live 15 to 20 years.
