Corn oil storage tank catches fire in Providence
PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — Smoke poured through a corn oil storage tank in Providence on Thursday afternoon.
The storage tank is located at Terminal Road in the Port of Providence.
Crews were called to the area around 3:30 p.m.
According to officials, the tank contained 3000 gallons.
The fire was contained to the tank, however crews working the scene said the heat from the fire sent the top of the silo flying into the air.
There were no reported injuries.
