UPDATE: Police identify driver in car vs Hotel Providence restaurant

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — Providence police have released the name of a driver accused of crashing her car into Backstage Kitchen Restaurant at Hotel Providence Friday morning.
Glorimar Diaz, of Pawtucket, faces several violations: duty to give information and render aid (no injuries), immediate notice of accident and lane roadway violation.
The crash occurred at approximately 12:21 a.m. when officers responded to the Mathewson Street building for report of the collision.
The vehicle in the incident was described as a white Honda Civic with front end damage.
The license plates came back to Diaz, who also matched the description of the driver at the time of the crash, according to Providence police.
Witnesses provided photo and video evidence of the vehicle fleeing the scene.
The building was deemed structurally safe by Providence fire personnel until a building inspector could report to the scene.
Diaz is due in court in February.
