RUTLAND, Mass. (WLNE) — The Rutland Fire Department said that a firefighters wife and twin children died suddenly.

Ciara Sullivan, the wife of firefighter Patrick Sullivan, “experienced a severe medical emergency” on Dec. 16 which required their two children, James and Elizabeth, to be delivered by emergency C-section.

Both the mother and the twins later died.

The department said that Ciara previously worked as a 911 dispatcher and was serving as an Emergency Management Specialist for FEMA.
