MCKEE: Some RIBridges files released to dark web in cyberattack

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — Rhode Island Governor Dan McKee’s office announced Monday that some RIBridges files have been released to a site on the dark web by cybercriminals after a November cyberattack.

The cyberattack, which was announced on December 13, targeted RIBridges, a system used by the state to determine eligibility for various healthcare programs and benefits, including food stamps Medicaid, and cash assistance.

RIBridges is run by vendor Deloitte, who informed the governor’s office of the dark web release.

McKee plans to address the state on the compromise of information at 1:30 p.m. Monday.
