Smithfield Police seek help identifying home break-in suspect

SMITHFIELD, R.I. (WLNE) — The Smithfield Police Department said it asking for the public’s help locating a suspect who attempted to break into a home on Monday.

Around 9:30 a.m., Smithfield police responded to a reported breaking-and-entering at a home on Ridge Road.

According to police, a resident interrupted the individual during the incident.

Ring doorbell footage at the home captured photos of the suspect, who police believe arrived in an older model Nissan Altima.

Smithfield police said it is confirmed that there was forced entry into the residence.
