Former Coventry school employee accused of assaulting student gets $1,000 bond
COVENTRY, R.I. (WLNE) — A former Coventry Public Schools employee faced a judge Wednesday after being accused of assaulting a student.
Police responded to Tiogue Elementary School on Dec. 13 after a report that 48-year-old Petrina Lunardelli had assaulted a student.
Lunardelli was charged with simple assault and battery and later turned herself into the Coventry Police Department.
She also resigned from her job after being placed on leave.
Lunardelli’s bond was set at $1,000 and she is expected back in court in February.
