UPDATE: Victim in fatal Seekonk crash identified by Bristol County DA

SEEKONK, Mass. (WLNE) — The victim in a Seekonk highway crash on Tuesday night was pronounced deceased at the scene, and has been identified by police.

Joshua Ponte, 37, of Fall River, was located by Massachusetts state troopers at the scene of a single vehicle crash Tuesday at approximately 5 p.m., according to the Bristol County District Attorney’s office.

The accident occurred at mile marker 1.4 on I-195 east.

Troopers located the black GMC pick-up truck on fire behind a guardrail up against a bridge support pillar on the median side of the highway.

The investigation into this crash is ongoing.
