It’s a Busy Week in the Weather Department!

And so it begins!

We’re entering an unsettled stretch of weather starting today. We start this Tuesday with mild temperatures in the mid 30s, and as we head into the afternoon, the numbers don’t change much. With a cold front approaching from the northwest, however, it will be windy, and we could see a brief snow shower later in the afternoon. Wind gusts could get up to 35+ mph today, so be careful on the roads if you drive a high-profile vehicle!

After this front leaves, colder air filters in and temperatures drop to the teens overnight. This is as our next storm approaches, and brings snow showers to the area starting around 1 AM Wednesday. Snow will fall until around 4:30 AM or so, with a wintry mix along the coast during the tail end of precipitation. Overall, the South Coast and South County will see a coating to an inch of snow or so, while areas farther north will see 1-3″.

While snow won’t be actively falling during the morning commute on Wednesday, slick spots are still possible! Take it easy behind the wheel. During the day we’re much more mild, with temperatures in the low 40s. It’ll still be windy, and with the last of our moisture you can expect a few showers (rain, snow, and in between) in the afternoon.

Cold air filters back in after this storm leaves, and temperatures Thursday will only be in the upper 20s. Friday warms up quite a bit with highs in the low to mid 40s, but we’ll have rain on Friday as well.
