PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Some of your favorite Marvel characters will be fighting it out at the Dunk this weekend. The show is fast paced and full of some pretty intense stunts. We wanted to know what it takes to perform in a show like that, so we sent Tim Studebaker. He has a behind the scenes look in tonight’s Tim Tries It:
Superheroes come together in Providence this weekend, defending the universe from evil.
Ashley Olivier is a performer in the show. She says, “ ‘Marvel Universe Live – Age of Heroes’ actually features the Avengers along with the Guardians of the Galaxy for the first time, and you’ll actually see them teaming up against Loki and other awesome villains and villainess to recover the Wand of Watoomb.”
They say you don’t need to know anything about the back story to enjoy the show.
Olivier says, “If you’re already an Avengers fan or you’re already a Marvel fan, you will obviously know what’s going on, and we bring the life to those characters that they obviously know and love. But if you don’t know any of the characters, you won’t be confused or miss out on anything because we’ll explain everything to you when you come.”
The show is full of special effects, pyrotechnics, martial arts, and stunts, both in the air and on the ground.
Spiderman and the Green Goblin fight it out, giving us a taste of what we can expect in the show.
After that, other performers were very patient with me while I tried to learn some of their moves.
First, I learn a couple of stick fighting routines. Then, they show me how to throw a stage punch.
“Marvel Universe Live Age of Heroes” runs through the weekend at the Dunkin’ Donuts Center in Providence. Visit their website for tickets: https://www.marveluniverselive.com/
