UPDATE: 4-year-old struck by car in Woonsocket dies

WOONSOCKET, R.I. (WLNE) — A four-year-old girl who was struck by a car in Woonsocket Monday has died after several days in Hasbro Children’s Hospital, according to Woonsocket police.

Eliza Khan was struck by a vehicle on Monday on Hamlet Avenue while crossing the road with her mother Dena Khan, 32, who was also struck and seriously injured.

Eliza passed away Tuesday night.

Dena Khan is still being treated for her injuries.

The investigation into the incident is still underway by Woonsocket police’s accident reconstruction team.

The operator of the vehicle is a 25-year-old Woonsocket man who has been cooperating with police.
