RIDOC Deputy Chief of Special Investigations resigns as he faces child pornography charges

Seth Crosby, 46, of Cranston. (Rhode Island State Police)

CRANSTON, R.I. (WLNE) — Rhode Island Department of Corrections Chief of Information J.R. Ventura said that the Deputy Chief of Special Investigations Seth Crosby resigned his position on Jan. 29.

Crosby was arrested in August 2024 for two counts of production or attempted production of child pornography and one count of video voyeurism.

“Since this is a personnel matter, we are very limited in what we can disclosed,” Ventura said.

Rhode Island State Police had said the investigation began after detectives received information from three children about the allegations against Crosby.
