Fall River construction worker dies after house collapse in Weymouth

WEYMOUTH, Mass. (WLNE) — Norfolk District Attorney Michael Morrissey said a 29-year-old construction worker died on Jan. 28 after a house under consturction collapsed in Weymouth.

Mario Diaz Obando of Fall River was killed when the house on Vine Street collapsed around 12 p.m.

Morrissey added that four other workers suffered minor injuries from the collapse, and all five victims were transported to hospitals.

The cause of the collapse is still under investigation, and witnesses said there was a “large gust of wind” before the collapse.
