‘Highly-talented kid’: Local skating club mourns loss of members in DC crash

NORWOOD, Mass. (WLNE) — The staff and members of the Skating Club of Boston are mourning the loss of six people who were on the American Airlines flight that crashed last night in Washington, DC.

Among club members in the crash were Gina Han, age 13, her mother Tin Han, Spencer Lane, 16 and his mother Christine and coaches Vadim Naumov and Evgenia Shishkova.

Spencer and his mother Christine Lane were from Barrington, Rhode Island.

CEO Doug Zeghibe said Spencer was a “Highly-talented kid” who was “Rocketing to the top of the sport,” and Jinna was a “Wonderful kid, great athlete, great competitor” who was loved by all.

ABC6 will speak with more staff at the skating club to learn more about these victims and the legacy they leave behind.

Zeghibe said it is a close knit skating community, so the impact is felt beyond the rink in Norwood.
