Woonsocket schools dismissed early after threatening message

WOONSOCKET, R.I. (WLNE) — All Woonsocket school students have been dismissed early Friday due to a threatening message sent to the high school and both middle schools, according to  Woonsocket schools superintendent’s office.

Woonsocket schools and Woonsocket police investigated the threat and found it to be non-credible.

The dismissal is out of an abundance of caution, according to Woonsocket schools.

All afterschool activities have been canceled for Friday as well.

The tiered school dismissals for each school are as follows:

Woonsocket High School/Woonsocket Area Career and Technical Center: 12:45 p.m.

Villa Nova Middle School: Noon

Hamlet Middle School: Noon

Savoie Elementary: 1:30 p.m.

Bernon Elementary: 1:30 p.m.

Pothier-Citizens’ Middle School: 1:30 p.m.

Globe Park Elementary: 2 p.m.

Harris Elementary: 2 p.m.

Coleman: 2 p.m.
